‘Double Vodka and Blackcurrant’ (2023) was funded by Northern Ireland Screen. The short film is a slice-of-life piece which portrays the midweek, hungover experience of friends living together for university in Belfast. The project blends the grounded, observational, and fly on the wall style of realist cinema with the humorous and colourful experiences that occur when you’re a student and surrounded by close friends.
'Double Vodka and Blackcurrant' had its festival premiere at the BAFTA qualifying 23rd Belfast Film Festival in November 2023 and was selected for the BIFA qualifying BFI Future Film Festival 2024. The film was nominated in the 'Best Writer' category in addition to being screened at the BFI Southbank London and the Nerve Centre in Derry. It was also shown in 2024 during the 25th Kerry International Film Festival, Louth International Film Festival and Cinemagic's On the Pulse Short Film Festival at Queen's Film Theatre.
